Report Highlights

The Structural Shifts Driving Capital to India

GCC Ecosystem

India hosts 2,117 Global Capability Centers across 3,728 units, generating $98.4 billion in revenue and employing 2.36 million professionals. That is within 2% of the 2030 revenue target, four years early. 506 Forbes Global 2000 companies and 504 PE-backed centers now operate here.

Capital Flows

Four pools of global capital moved in four different directions in FY2026. A record $94.5 billion in strategic FDI, $36 billion deployed by private equity and venture capital, $7 billion of net foreign debt inflows, and roughly $20 billion of net equity outflows that domestic retail absorbed.

AI and Talent

India is the number one AI hiring market among global GCC destinations. 1,200+ GCCs now run AI and ML capabilities, 250+ operate dedicated AI centers of excellence, and the country holds more than 250,000 AI and ML professionals in GCCs alone, about 28% of that global talent pool.

Macroeconomic Stability

Real GDP grew 7.7% in FY2025-26 on NSO provisional estimates, a third consecutive year above 7% and the fastest of any major economy. A $337.3 billion goods deficit is almost entirely absorbed by services receipts and remittances, holding the current account deficit at 0.6% of GDP.

Global Capability Centers in India

From Delivery to Ownership: The End of the Back-Office Narrative

      Methodology

All data is drawn from institutional, regulatory and government publications, including MoSPI and the NSO, the Reserve Bank of India, DPIIT, IFSCA, SEBI, NPCI, the IMF, NASSCOM, Bain and IVCA, KPMG, EY, Wood Mackenzie, Tracxn, PwC India and FICCI, and Cushman & Wakefield. Key figures were cross referenced against at least two independent publications, and industry survey figures are attributed to the publishing firm. All figures reflect publicly available data as of September 2026. Indian fiscal years run April to March, so FY2026 means April 2025 to March 2026. USD/INR ranged from about 89.86 to 96.84 across the reporting period, so USD figures drawn from different sources are not directly comparable.
